myself, brother and dad have just returned to the sea fishing scene after a few years absence, the gare was always one of our regular sunday haunts.is there anyone else out there who regularly fishes this mark, any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated cheers going out there on sunday afternoon till we run out of bait will post any catches on here tonight
the gare is not as good as it used to be ,i would fish the scaurs at redcar any day in prefrence to there ,you need rotten bottom rigs ,but your rewards are much greater .
is that the place that was in the magazine last month?
tried the gare last night, totally unfishable major swell and a gale but stuck it out for a few hours 1 ling about 8 inches, tried the beach at the bottom of the pier nothing there but sand?!?!?!?!?
hey adam, don\'t want to sound like a smart arse but your \"Ling\" was probably a \"rockLING\" old wives and my mate reckon when you catch one it\'s time to go home as there\'s nowt else about.
i think thats the one adam ,i missed that issue but a mate said it was in there, if you go there at low water it will giveyou a clear picture of the scaurs running out to sea and the gulleys in betwwen holding and drawing fish in .a lot of the locals fish the east scaur which is the biggest ,but they all produce .you can also fish the high water from the slipway in front of the hotel which after a good hard blow throws up some decent fish .i think if you look up denneys diving web site on the net it has a map of the scaurs and also the wrecks lying out there ,which is good info for you .hope this is of help :P
