i bought a zziplex bullet the other night with damage to the decal. i know that the butt is around 5ft with a powertex decal but is covered with red shrink tube and the tip is around 7ft with what looks like a blue varnish, any help would be appriciated. also i would like to know if i payed to much, as i payed 80 for it,
    cheers.

Could be a Pendleteque Bullet, especially if it is a blue blank.

I got the Pendleteque Pro-Am Match (fishing version of the Bullet) and it is a shade over 12' in length (7' tip and 5' graphite butt). Pretty sure the Pendleteque Bullet was built on the same mandrel but the Pro-Am has a glass tip whilst the Bullet was an all carbon blank.

Came out in about 1989 / 1990 (got mine in 1990, still gets the odd run out), very good rods but will feel soft compared to modern rods

Hi I would advise before thinking about a rebuild get out and try it first see if it suits you as £80 is easier to get back than after adding costs of full rebuilds

Unless your going to keep it financially it's not worth you getting it rebuilt to sell it as to get it looking it's best it will need a full strip and blue re-glaze then rebuilt with what ever guides you chose.
