  • Blyth Pier 17th june

I went to the pier today for around 10am and there was around 5 people on there in total, so wondered if it was going to turn out rubbish. But I had a great 4 hours spinning. I never got any mackeral but I had 7 coalies,4sandeels and a weaver fish and believe it or not a starfish on a spinner.
I had a great time though and glad i went out fishing. There was a guy with 3 mackeral and a few flatties etc that had been on the pier all night and one other guy pulled a mackeral in while i was there, I lost 12+ coalies on the lift up to the pier but it was all part of the fun.I am hoping to get down next week as well and wet another line.

Good fishing mate, nice to see that the coalies are getting more preditory as the summer goes on. A bet the starfish gave you a good fight!!

just fairly little colies mate, The star fish was unreal as it was on a light spinning rod and i couldnt feel anything fighting back just a weight on the line lol

Sardines on there tonight - never seen it so busy for a long time. Loads of people with feathers and spinners but no one catching anything. If you use bait you get plagued with coalies and small flatties.

One young lad had 9 coalies in consectutive casts!
                Here fishy, fishy!

I have never caught a Star fish but my dad once caught a prawn on the pier. Couldnt believe it. I didnt think they ate Rag. It was tiny.
