  • Rig advice

When fishing in rough or mixed ground I tend to use a rotten bottom system with an inverted Gemini clip, like so many others I guess. If I want to use a clipped rig I would then typically just put an IMP above that.

However to neaten things up could I just use a lead with a built in hook clip do you think ? or would that just lift the lead out of the Gemini clip ?

Anyone any experience of this ?

For the rough stuff "cannylinks" take some beating. Rotten bottom and bait clip in one.

I fish like this a lot, and it doesn't lift the lead out of the clip.

I've tried canny links, but find that they don't always release the lead. Just my experience, others seem to like them.

Thanks lads, I have had the same bother with canny links actually, sometimes don't release hook and/or lead.

You can just use another gemini clip and turn it upside down, then u have ur clip down with rotten bottom below.

            Works for me
