Maybe the thought should be before you get a dog where can i exercise it?
I really think that bringing in some kind of licence fee that would pay for dog only areas/parks would be a good thing.
Dog owners would be able to take the pets to places that THEY have shall we say right of way.
Anyone going there could not moan about dogs running around.
Plus the rules on collecting their pets crap could be enforced.
Maybe even have some of the licence fee go towards the RSPCA.
I have no doubt that some dog owners would object to that but the problem of dogs;or rather owners not keeping control of the dogs and dog crap is an issue that comes up time and time again.
            Needs a solution

this is rediculous, dog owners have every right to watk their dogs on beaches, if you are on about having to pay licence fee for where you can walk ur dog then mabey the same shud apply to sea anglers

if it ment proper policing/patroling of each i would be happy to pay a reasonable licence fee for each

I have a staffie bitch which i walk on Headland beach when i visit. If she has a sh-te i pick it up in a poo bag then put it in the bins on the prom front.
When fishing off this beach i,ve lost count how many dogs come over and cock thier legs up at my fishing box or rod stand. I,m not bothered usually just shoo them off. 9 times out of ten the owners are lasses anyway so i have bit of a chin wag.
                Mick.

On some beaches they don't and i fail to see why anyone one group, anglers, dog owners or simply people who make a mess feel they have a right.
If a right is abused it can and will be removed.
Lets face it at one time dogs were allowed to roam the street and crap all over them.
No doubt owners thought that was a right,it isn't now.
                    Times and rights change.
Others may also say they have the right to walk on beaches without out of control dogs and crap.

                    That was my point.
People are moaning about dog crap and dogs not under control so a dog only area would solve both problems.

had the dog over the local nature reserve today, lake full of ducks, swans etc with their young, some silly woman was throwing sticks in the water for her dog. Not only are their many signs saying don't allow your dog in the water, there is a very good chance of it catching something with all the rat and geese droppings. I told her politely not to do it, she and her mate, and they where not young< walked away muttering under their breath. The others that annoy me are the ones who pick up the crap and hang it on trees and never have any intention of going back for it.
