had a run up to blyth beach for a stroll and a pint, yesterday however whilst sitting for a while i noticed quite an influx of people with "dogs" running about all over the place, they were all over running through families with kids whom ended up in a state of panic, and worst of all they were being allowed to crap" all over the place, one bloke just stood there and watched his collie deposit a huge pile in front of me and calmly just walked on away from it.i hope someone from blyth valley" reads this as its not just us anglers that should get a bad name when it comes to trashing our local beaches and if these people take a closer look you will find theres a lot more crap than rubbish. sorry about this gripe folks, but i dont want my kids on a beach full of crap.c,mon clean your act up korky.

on the flip side of this, i always take my dog for a walk on the beach between roker pier and the old north pier on a saturday lunch time (the only beach in sunderland you are allowed on with dogs in the summer months). a couple of weeks ago i decided to have a few casts off the beach fo flatties when i had the dog down. just after i started fishing a woman plonks down on a blanket behind me with three kids. one of the kids about 3 or 4 years old started throwing sticks in the water and my dog was fetching them back every time, the kid was having a great time as was my dog. suddenly the woman starts shouting at me to keep my f***ing dog under control, i asked what the problem was, she said she would report me for having an out of control dog (at no time was my dog out of control) ten minutes later to my dismay the police arrived she'd called 999. the police requested me to leave the beach with the dog, i asked if it was a request or an order as there is a big difference, he said a strong request which i then said i would decline unless ordered at which point he said we will have to leave it at that and left with the woman shouting abuse at him.(she should have got done for wasting police time) i told the woman if she wanted a dog free environment for her kids to use the beach on the other side of the pier to which she blew her top again.
oh and by the way i always clean any dog dirt up.

I do hope that the ban at Newbiggen is extended to all our beaches.
Might sound harsh but i find many dog owners seem to feel that they have the right, along with their mutt to do what they wish.
Let the dog run amok, bark and bark, run at people including small children and foul the beach.
I am not anti dog, just the reverse,i have owned dogs.
But when i did they were trained and also assumed that people did not want a dog jumping up at them, barking at them or annoying them in any way.
I find that most owners i see DO NOT have control of their animal,it is NOT fully trained and they have no understanding,or don't care that some people have a fear of dogs or simply do not like them.
Again i am sure that there are owners on here who do clear up after their animal, but from what i see on the beach,in the car park and in other areas they are not most owners.
I have spoke in a casual way to owners about this, the usual response is a tirade about the mess other people leave, which was not my point but sums up the attitude.THE PSYCHIC BIKER

Am supprised the police didnt mention the no fishing sign during summer months on that part of the beach, we noticed the sign last week as we were walking towards pier.
we thought it must be because there's a lot of water sports in that area during the summerwww.home-improver.com

a love my do and love taking hime forwalks along the beaches, BUT understand ur point on dog s**t all over, it gives all dog owners bad names
things need to be tightened up fines patrols etc
you can also go the other way and say anglers cause alot of mess etc witch can cause alot more damage to animals wildlife etc
so at the end of the day the goverment or whoever needs to enforce these laws/rules on dog messing anglers littering, its just this usless country and its gettin worse and worse
am glad to say always clean up after my dog and never litter!! if only there where more people in the world like moi!!

If the problem is anglers causing a mess that needs to be sorted.
If its dogs then that needs to be sorted.
Neither can use the other as an excuse

Every dog owner i talk to always says it someone elses and their dog that is the problem.
So ban " someone elses dog",sorted.THE PSYCHIC BIKER

I don't know about dogs but the litter is because of the mind set today. Last week I was on the metro on the way to work when a mother actively told her son to "throw" this rubbish on the ledge behind the seats. I got really fustrated and thought I heard her wrong so waited before mentioning it. Came to my stop and she got up to get off the same stop so I mentioned it to her and she became hostile and said "Thats what the cleaners are for" so I pointed out that cleaners are there to clean not to pick **** up left by irresponsible ****s with no common manners or decency...... ooooo she didn't like that. lol
littering is one of many basic parental flaw's. You can disagree but manners are learnt from the parents, no where else. How hard is it to teach a young boy respect? seems like its lazy parenting.
Anyways sorry for hijacking the thread. I understand this is about dog excriment but some mentioned the human excriment littering and letting there dog do the same... kindaSpecies: Cod, Bass, Coalie, Flounder, Dab, Rockling, Mackerel, Plaice, Pollock, Ballen Wrasse, L/S Scorpion, Common Blenny, Weaver (unfortunately), Whiting, Common Eel, Trout, Pike... think that's it
