Hello lads first i would like to apologise for the lack of comments from myself as i have been very busy with school work.
Now i need some adivce on fishing Blyth this weekend, i.e bait, rig and places to fish. I havent had much luck on Blyth recently so any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks lads

was fishing the end of the peir at the weekend with just black lug and got a fish a chuck pritty much, dabs, small codling and lots of colies. you can catch 100's colies on daylights just jigging on the bottom im told but i only got a few when i was there think the water was a bit mucky.

Yep, plenty of coalies to be had on daylights, all small ones it seems. Just literally drop it over the edge and jig up and down just off the bottom. You will soon get one or two or three! I stopped though because they kept foul hooking through the eye, back, stomache etc. and I felt guilty.

I also find Blueys to be quite good on Blyth pier, but can't beat good old ragworm!

Another thing about Blyth Pier, slightly off topic, I had never caught a starfish in all my years fishing (and to be fair, I never EXPECTED to catch a starfish!), but lately I've been catching them nearly every time I've been to Blyth. Some of them are monsters too! Whats up with that?

Couple of times I've been on it's either been dead or just small stuff. If you can get to Sluice try the breakwater on a dawn high tide, couple of hours each side - but make sure it's not been raining for a good few days before. Ditto Wansbeck estuary where the boat sheds are or mouth either side.
