    hi am looking for a new spot and was looking at the groyne or the pier with the red light house on it and was just wondering how does it fish.what the ground is like around there and if its got any closing times or are you even aloud to fish it

    I have fished it once and never again lol, when i was finished the port of Tyne complained as the amount of lead i had lost was causing a shipping concern

      groyne

      at the moment on par with every wyhere else ( crap ), the end of groyne very heavy going tackle hungry , the bend pretty easy going, lose only the odd lead no where near as bad as the end, can prouce decent fish in the winter and canny plaice in summer

        last time i was on the groyne i lost 11 weights in a 3 and a half session,but i did get fish as i used a rotten bottom set up.
