  • AUCTION

Remember a while ago, I suggested we held an RNLI fund raising auction ??
Well, it fell flat at the time.....just wondering if there was any interest in me resurrecting the idea again.

Slightly different format to what I suggested last time around and it would only run for 1 week.

Dunno if you\'ve ever listened to the Children in Need auction that Terry Wogan runs on Radio 2 each year, but I was thinkin\' of using the same format as that..........

    1. If you have anything you\'d like to donate to the auction, either e-mail or PM me the details. NOTE: It must be something which you are happy to have ALL the money raised from its sale, go to the RNLI. ( you could even e-mail me a photo of the item aswell ). Let me know the MINIMUM amount you\'d let it go for. If it doesn\'t attract the reserve price, Ill conact the donor and ask if he / she is happy for it to go to the highest bid offered or not.

    2. As I recieve item details, I\'ll post the items as a list in a new \"RNLI AUCTION\" forum.

    3. To bid for an item, you must e-mail or PM me with your bid amount. Upon receipt of a bid, I\'ll post the amount as an update on the bidding for that item. No names will appear....just the amount bid.

    4. I will contact the successful bidders and inform them of where they need to send their cheques / Postal Orders, (made payable to NESA), to.

    5. Once payment has been received, I\'ll contact the person who donated the item, confirming receipt of payment.

    6. Arrangements for collection / delivery / postage MUST be made between the donor and the buyer.

Yes, I know it\'s gonna mean a bit of extra work on my part, but hey...it\'s only for 1 week and it\'s for our RNLI fund.

As it\'s only gonna be for 1 week, I\'ll just run it on the Board rather than set up a dedicated auction facility.

Don\'t want offers of donations just yet......just want to know if it\'s worth setting it up this time.

      Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

        CHAMPION......off to a good start.....thanks Bri & Mark.

I\'ll wait \'til I have some more responses to see if it\'s a goer this time, or not.

NOTE: Items DON\'T have to be fishing related.......they don\'t even need to be \"items\".......you may be able to offer a \"service\" (e.g. any DIY experts out there.....anybody needing a spot of DIY doing??).....In such a case, the \"item\" (the donation of the service) MUST come from the person offering the service, not the person requiring the service.

          never done that mind Tony

          good idea though.
The auction organised to help Bryony was very successful if I remember rightly (?)

OK ......lol.......let\'s just clear this up.........
I DON\'T make a point of listening to good ol\' Tel, it\'s just that I\'ve heard him doing the CIN auction a few times.....that\'s all....honest....and thought it would work well as a quick auction format on here.

Yep, the Bryony auction DID work very well, Ell.

This is not meant to be owt as drawn out as that, just a quick \"cash-dash\" to see how much we can raise for our RNLI Fund in a week.

If we can get it sorted ASAP, we may be able to add what\'s made from the auction to the amount raised from the Shore comp at the end of the month.

I refuse to be outbid on the peeler this time though, Thirkell Jr. employed unfair tactics. i.e offering a fair price
