  • Lincolnshire Peelers - Crabby Nuggets

Anyone ever tried these before? Just bought some off Ebay, £7 for 24 baits, delivered. Seemed like a canny price I thought so worth a try. They arrived today and they're bigger than I expected so looking forward to giving them a crack this weekend hopefully (although sadly not on the boat, judging by the terrible forecast ).

Just wondered if anyone else had tried them? The description that came with them made them sound like the best thing since sliced bread (or sliced peeler maybe?).

Oil can be taken from any animal or plant, through different processes BUT the oil your talking about is probably synthetic, 1 lonely crab would probably give you 10ml at most.. which would make it VERRRRY expensive for the 250ml bottle lol
Species: Cod, Bass, Coalie, Flounder, Dab, Rockling, Mackerel, Plaice, Pollock, Ballen Wrasse, L/S Scorpion, Common Blenny, Weaver (unfortunately), Whiting, Common Eel, Trout, Pike... think that's it

if you want crab baits for the boat either use fresh or frozen peeler or the bait they call CART (the insides of edible crabs) which is tried and tested and available from guys on the whitby fishing forum.
give a man a fish and feed him for a day - teach the man to fish and feed him for life!!!!

Oh well, fair do's then!! I'll still give them a shot on a spare rod, might as well! I have stocked up on plenty other frozen bait, lug, blueys, squid, mackerel, but didn't have any crab so thought Id give these a shot. You live and learn I guess!

I'll have to get some proper peeler crab then instead. I was wondering, would you find peelers in a harbour when the time is right? Seaton Sluice harbour to be exact. I could easy leave a few tyres round my boat (there's already some there in fact for the moorings etc.). Would be ideal if you could because I could just scrape some out before I go out on a trip!
