Mick, just park near the Kings Arms, walk over the little footbridge and along the path. You will see the breakwater to the left and there are some steps that will take you onto the Sumps just outside the breakwater.
Jim.Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Also the pipe at Lynemouth has loads of coalies but maybe a bit tough of a climb over the boulders for a 7yr old. Excellent shot tho!Best shore caught fish:- Pollock 6lb+ Beadnell, 9lb 8oz Cod Blyth Beach

It possibly is too early Mick but the main thing to take into consideration is whether the sea is clear or not. As you are'nt using bait there won't be any smell so you need the water to be clear enough for the fish to find the bait without smell. Vibration of what ever you are using will be part of it but the clear water is very important.

if fishing the rocks at sluice behind the breakwater, watch out going down the stairs as these rocks are very slippy, hard to walk on with no gear. try fishing the rocks on the headland behind the kings arms at low tide (bigger tides are better) and these rocks will be alot safer for a 7 year old, if fishing here it would be just as worth going to whitley pipe and surounding rocks, produces some good fish and is safe, low tide spot(bigger tides better) but be carefull if there is a bit of a sea on.Last edited by Karl M; 21-04-2010, 10:28 PM.
