Drive into Blyth industrial estate the second entrance just past kfc where the car valeting place is , straight down past aps (on the left) and park along the verge near the river just around the bend at the bottom of the road , i dig along the edges as theres bigger rag to get but is very hard going as its full of rocks and rubble but theres some monsters there , for the smaller rag walk along the edge towards Bedlington way you,ll see a pipe with a post at the end , to the right of here theres mud flats which is easy digging ( the areas littered with cockle shells ), would recommend you go with some one if your digging the mud as it can be sticky , usually get enough for a days fishing in an hour when im by my self

i dig a few marks in blyth river i just live 2 minutes away. would'nt take ya kids down on the mud m8 as has been said above very dangerous as u can sink in the sleck in some places i've seen quite a few wellies & thigh waders left stuck in the sleck. keep inamong the rocks as also said heavy work but big rag & alot safer.
