    not being an expert at fishing i was wondering when the shops stopped selling lug,as last year i asked for some and was told it did not get any until the winter months.

    I would guess that was an inshore shop your talking about Pete? Maybe just supply and demand mate as I think all of the coastal shops sell Lug all year.

      sometimes the lug doesn,t travel well in the heat i think
      species so far :cod,whiting,coalie,dab,flounder ,plaice,3bearded rockling,mackeral,granny fish best for 2012 :6lbcod

        Never had any problems getting supplies from the tackle shops whatever the season. I.D Fishing, McDermotts, Lewis Tackle, Billy's. Did rate Johns at Wallsend was sorry to see it go.

          theve had no lug afew times at ID fishing but that could be because i usally go on a sunday, baits not the best either, espesialy ragworm. I like the shop and all just the baits not the best there.

            Lug has been scarce when digging this winter up here in the far north, the long cold spell has sent them much deeper down than normal.

              there will be more lug available soon in tackle shops as its probs most popular bait for winter time
