  • The cod spring run

I'm fancying a couple of trips down to Aldeburgh this year for the cod spring run.
I'm also fancying trips down to The Holdeness coast to have a go at catching some thornback rays.

I could do with some help please.
    At Aldeburgh,local accommodation pub preferred.
    Local tackle shop for bait.
Access to the beach, can 4x4s still be used, was there years ago but may have changed now.
Best tide times and size and any other local help with a contact number.

At Holderness I fancy stopping at Hornsea, there's a pub on the front cant remember the name.
Do they do accommodation there.contact numbers.
Best times for the thornies and best tides and location.
    Any help would be appreciated

Fished Aldeburgh back end of last year and if you're fishing the wall I think it's blocked for vehicles, park at the towers. Bit of a slog through the shingle if you're loaded down. Got some of our bait at Tackle-Up in Felixstowe never went to the shop as they were delivering to the hotel for the match.

Check the lads on the WSF site for more up to date info. Certain spots at Aldeburgh were heavy with snags last year and if you hit the pegs you were losing lots of gear.
