You are better off just buying a pack or two of frozen runny from your tackle dealers mate about 3.50 a pack, shove it in the freezer and use whenever

Totally agree with Durham Lad, plus your looking after your local tackle shop, i now prefer to buy frozen blacks instead of live bait, sometimes the live worms are hitty miss, ie; to small or virtually dead before you even go fishing

My mate gets live peeler from Devon via e-bay and its spot on.

Its not cheap but if you want to win compos i suppose its worth it.

            Hi Shaun.

i used perseved bait years ago i do not like it, never caught anything on it,

best thing to do is freeze bait, what i do is buy frozen bait when i can and put it in the freezer you never know when you will need it.

Squid and crab is a killer bait. Wouldnt suprise me if the crab that gets supplied with that deal comes in a bar the size of a mars bar and is more or less pretty useless mate. Been many a test done with it.

Your first seven words of your statement usually work for me Shaun

As said before, get some frozen baits in your freezer. Runnydown, Mussel, Razorfish and Squid can be picked up anywhere, if you are feeling a bit flush in a couple of months you can add some frozen peeler to that. Once you have those in your freezer you can go out at short notice any time. There are a couple of other baits you can add to them but no need to get everything at once. Don't freeze them down in bulk either, separate them into what you might use in one go. That said, you can re freeze them all except the Crab, get yourself a widemouth food flask to carry your Crab, I used to keep mine in the freezer with my bait.

As far as the preserved bait goes........... just don't lol.

                      Jim.

Must admit i bought some preserved sand eels, the liquid they are in makes them look blue.
Got them off E bay ages ago as a "just in case " bait.
Mainly as our freezer is tiny so hard to store much frozen stuff.
To date have never tried them but i will.

Caught my first big cod on the raw prawn, worth a look.

thats the same guy that was selling peeler in toffee sized baits. load of tosh with many many many bad reports about the stuff, i did extensive testing with it and would not recommend it in any form or fashion, even when used with patanosters his bait took nothing were as the real stuff caught, dont be conned by the reports and what looks initially a good bait, do a web search on the peeler man and see for yourself
