OK lads i've been out of shore fishing for a while and this is currently my first proper season back so i'm a bit out of touch on the gear tbh, my question is i have a slosh20 and i'm thinking of replacing it with a 525mag or similar, what do you recommend?

    cheers in advance, neil

Replacing it for what reason mate Slosh is a cracking work horse, unless its boogered i wouldnt even consider it. My opinion of course.

Well this is my reel story of this season I started with an abu 7500ct c3 which has served me well for ten years but the end plates were corroding and unable to obtain replacments anyway I had seen the slosh and penns so tried a slosh 20 which was canny and can't complain but never hit it off the way I expected then was in lewis's when a great penn 535 was on the counter for 50quid well that was that and think it's the dogs b@llocks casts well retrieved amazing and good power plus mega strong build quality.

tbh no reason really, there's now't wrong with the slosh, just though the new mag reels might have moved the game on a bit

cheers for the quick replys fellas, if anyone else has owt to add feel free

I've got a 525 and a slosh 20...unless you're feeling flush or really need a new reel then there is no need to change in my humble etc

ive got both as well but rarely use the slosh.

Good reel but the thumb grip when casting feels a lot better/lower on the penn to me.

av used the slosh for years both 20 and 30, can't fault them coz they hav never let me down.
i also use the penn 525 mag for chuckin and i think that there is no difference between that and 20 on that score, if anything i think the 20 is more docile, but hey what do i know, it's down to personal choice at the end of the day but there is no need to get a 525 mag just for the sake of it or on what people say
