Any of you own or used Century Tip Tornado Sport. Would it be overkill for clean/mixed ground? What are they like to cast with?

My mate used one in Norway and pulled in 6 doubles up to 48 1/2lb with it so it handles well. They also seem to cast canny well. We were fishing clean/mixed and heavyground and it coped fine.
Best shore caught fish:- Pollock 6lb+ Beadnell, 9lb 8oz Cod Blyth Beach

i bought a second hand one (gold whippings version - mark 2 i think?) when i returned to fishing.. they are pokey and deffo more than a clean beach rod, decent casters if not top notch, but the low diamater is very nice to use.

but... they suffer from the century curse of going soft.. mine ended up like a lump of floppy liquorish before i traded it in. So personally i wouldnt get one if you use your rods a lot.

I,ve just bought a Match-and thats as strong as an ox. Not had long enough to comment on bite detection-but did catch a 4lb er recently and rod tip just went down when cod picked up bait. So seems canny.

The new 1's are made different so they don't go soft in the tip

                              tip tornado sport,

The new tt sport.is stiffer, supposed.to be a solid /harder tip, the older tt sports suffered soft tip after.a.few.years, but a lot of people.found them perfect like that, my ld was.similar,,, the sport.is similar to the cccld carbon metal,, /I got the sport.myself and love it on clean beaches, good bite detection even with small stuff, it is stiffer than the older one, but then carbon has come a long way since.then,, the supermatch ld is an easier smooth ground rod but with the seas getting rougher come November, +weed. I think I made the right choice,
