  • Rod Advice

I am after upgrading my rod. Usually fish clean/mixed ground from beaches. Fancy learning to pendulum cast too. Anyone got any suggestions & also think I will be looking out for a second hand one to get more for my money. Cheers

Hi Tony, have a word with Will Powell and the casting lads at Kirkleatham about learning to cast, they cast once a month on a Sunday and practice on a Thursday night when the light nights get here.

As far as the rods go I'm sure you will get lots of different reccomendations, the best thing though is to see if you can have a try of any of your mates rods and see if they suit you as they all have a different action.

    Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

          rod

what ever it is dont waste ya money on a stiff sport rod. if you want to increase ya distance get a rod you can bend- most match type rods still have a lot of power because the power comes from the rod bending easily and acting like a spring. that way you get distance without blowing your baits to bits. a stiff rod will not bend like a spring if you cant load it correctly and can actualy shorten your distance as a result.hope this helps.

makes century, zziplex, anyfish anywhere, all have match type rods that can cast over 250yards!

          good luck
