              Hello,

I'm sure that Ken Robinson's cod was 40lb 11oz and was caught in 1988. Somewhere I have a magazine cutting with the details. I'll see if I can find it.

              Regards Ian.

58LB caught out whitby on sea-trek in 1993 if iam not mistaken, the fish was caught on some rough ground 30miles off whitby.

One of the local trawlers form whitby had a cod 46kg last week while fishing off the norwegian coast it was weighed on the boat .

                    paul.

They didn't take that long to get in mate. They only tried a couple of runs but there was a very tricky ledge that the lads had to get them over.
Best shore caught fish:- Pollock 6lb+ Beadnell, 9lb 8oz Cod Blyth Beach

I'm sure that was a Scottish record, not sure about a UK record.
Ken's cod was 40lb 6ozs, i remember, cos i weighed it for him at whitley bay clubhouse at 1-30 am. It must have lost a couple of lbs in fluids from being caught.
