the report was on ere but its strange how he doesnt heve a camera and decides to release it and takin a drop net tht far up wud be like us fishing timber beach with a drop net i have my suspicions
That`s a great fish for the river, come to think of it thats a good fish for anywhere.Wonder how many rods will be at hebburn over the next few days lol.
I know of one over 8lb at gateshead under the redhugh bridge. He might have been scratching with small hooks and had a drop net just incase he hooked a decent one. I have to admit I sometimes use size 4s in the river when coaching and take a drop net but suppose there's not many others will do that. I reckon most people who didn't have a camera and caught such a fish would have taken it home, unless they've caught hundreds of doubles???
Wasn't there a 10lber caught under the tyne bridge, last year or the year before??? Must admit i don't take a camera with me and some people actually do carry drop nets just in case
aye i carry one aswell when the bairn wants to fish the duck park ya never know do ya looking at the views on the other site 100,s but no reply from the guy that nailed it
I carry a drop net with me nearly everywhere after loosing a monster some years back and I do take it in the river, its there if I need it once bitten and all that!!
Well if it`s true well done to the lad more so for putting it back. There`s no doubt that the river does throw up some good fish,i can recall one over 11lb from pottery bank, and 2 over 9lb from gateshead side in the last 10 years. Before that i know of one at a shade under 13lb caught from the international paints.
seem to remember not long agao a gentleman pulling a 25lber out the Tyne, he didn't have a camera, and quite a while back a Rickleton anglers had one of 16lb, he didn't have a camera either.
i caught a 10lb cod at jarrow park 4years bk and thts not far dwn from hebburn so you neva know he could of but you would of at least fort he wud of tuk a pic.
