    Yer he was not that healthy when doing the program, if i remember right they had to head back and off load him on 1 show because of poor health.

      Yeah diet of cigs and coffee/red bull style drinks didn't help.
      But he seemed a nice guy with all the problems that goes with being a dad.

                The guy took a season off because of a blood clot which nearly killed him. 2 of his sons worked on his boat aswel. Seemed a canny bloke and will be a miss on the show. Big shame rip

                  Yes that is very sad news, im an avid watcher of the show and Phil was one of my 2 favourite skippers as well as johnathon hillstrand, the show definatly wont be the same without him. RIP

                    he,ll be a big miss on the show,great bloke to watch,we only seen a small part of his life,but he had a large impact on the show,RIP.
