wanting to try fixed spool reel ,but cant decide between pen affinity 8000 LC or pen spinfisher 7500 LC . I know the spinfisher costs a few quid more but is it a better reel as i have read conflicting reviews

Ill be fishing mixed to rough ground using braid.

the affinity will handle clean to mixed ground, the spinfisher will handle anything
got both, both good reels but spinfisher best for the type of fishing you mention

Be interested where you read the conflicting views, and what was said the pros and cons between the two.
Think you will find the Penn fixed spool users who have actually tried both reels will tell you everytime, the Spinfisher is by far the superior reel of the two, especially if you intend to fish mixed to rough ground.

Spin fisher is the better reel (IMO) but the affinity will do the job no bother either, both good reels

Nothing wrong with the affinity and will do your mixed ground, the reel feels very powerful. Spin fisher still the better of the two mind

One has a plastic frame one is metal! One wobbles about and flexes under load one doesn't!

Maybe so but the only thing that's ever said is it must be the most expensive which is not true ! Spinfisher all the way for rough ground there are other options reggie lad.

What cheaper alternative comes with a full non flexing body? A braid spool and mono spool?and a reel that is fully sealed from water?

Plenty to choose from if you remove the blinkers.

I can't find any with that spec cheaper, if I could I would buy them, I have tried cheaper and more expensive reels and nothing comes close to spinfisher for usability, reliability, build quality and price but if you know of one please share,
