40yrds ! you want to be out there were the fish are feeding! 150+ gives you more of a chance of better fish!!! but my son has had better fish at 20yrds. the fish can up anywhere

Its not the distance that counts its the know how, if the mark fishes close in or at distance then thats what you do or if theres a hole close in you fish it not cast beyond and over it. Lots of peeps in the northeast plain and simply cast too far and over the fish, distance is only required on flat clean beaches when the conditions require it. I use 15-20lb berkley, strong as, good abraisve resistance and good knot strength, good all rounder even though it isnt the thinest dia. For the rocks its 40lb berkley straight through or 30lb suffix tritanium with a leader.

Nothing wrong with the line. Try not to abrase it on the pier wall when fast up and it won't snap in your hand.

dont think many fish have been caught in 3 yrs neither mr sless ! as to many of my buds are far to preoccupied with out casting each other sometimes at great expense as well. lol.

15lb diawa sensor is the way to go, it,s slightly thicker than normal at 0.37 but it's as tough as bulls lugs never go past it

well i bought some Sakuma Nite Crystal 14lb as reconmended to me by the tournament casters. Cheers for the PM`s guys - seems lovely and soft, will road test it tomorrow.

also thanks for your the rest of your views lads - But in my experiance Diawa Sensor is very poor performer for big casting.. while its ideal in the bigger 30lb+ class stuff on my Saltists or such for short range big baits and weights, heavy rock work where its abnormal thickness saves you losing fish and gear on the scears, in the thinner stuff on a 7ht mag getting full throttle, i find you can tell its a cheap and cheerful line and loves to blow up. Also its that thick, i can nearly empty my spool of it on my small reels.

Even the Diawa Tournament is thick for the breaking strain.... so i stayed clear of that also.

I have have tried the Ultima Power and Power Plus previously.. and while good in thick line on big reels, again i found it springy and proan to blow in the sub 15lb line.

But thats me done with the F1 line now.. for good.
