That area is known as Cat and Dog steps, ive only fished it on a low water but when i was on the beach there was plenty of fishy looking holes that could hold fish over high water. I would say it was medium ground as the holes you would fish into are only of depth of 1-3 foot deep, that said i fish into very rough ground so my idea of clean may differ from others. Usually thows a fish or 2 out.

You can park just of the main coast road, you want to be anywhere after the park on the left as you come from the south. Walk towards the sea and down the steps to the prom.

i tried there today just down from Cat and Dogs (whitburn side)

Didnt get a sniff.. there was around 20 of us on the beach fishing in total and no one got anything.

It was very shallow, i could wade out 30 yards at low water.

I think the middle of the beach, or the rocky part towards the pier is the better place, especially for Bass.
