  • Fishy photos

unfortunately over the last couple of weeks I have recieved some photos that will not print in the paper and a couple more that have needed a bit of work on them and they might just be printable. I would just like to pass on a few tips.

When taking photos always look at your background, try to avoid garages, kitchens, or even back gardens, a plain background is better than seeing your unwashed dinner plates, and If I where a burglar I have seen a few items I might fancy. Even a shhet hung behind you, plain that is, would be better than the dogs dinner. Try also if you have caught a dark coloured cod and have a dark top on keep the belly in over if holding the fish up straight. Or better still change your top to a lighter colour, red is an excellent back ground colour, ask Neil Pringle. This is especially important when taking photos at night. If at all possible keep the fish till it is light the next day and take it, if possible back to the beach or rocks and take a photo there. Now a bit of the technical stuff, you need a photo of at least 1mb and 300 dots per inch, your hand book with your camera or phone should tell you how to do this. Some photos over the years I have recieved I have changed the background on, when I put the photo on the new background the photo is that small you can't see it, and when trying to enlarge it, it pixalates (breaks up) If at all possible give me a ring and I will try and come and take photos for you, if you don't live to far away, or we could at least meet halfway, if you happen to get a record breaker i will be there like a shot regardless of how far.

sorr if you eel th wa Trvr just tring to give som helpful tips so our cach of a lifetime looks better. Certainly to us any pic is better than none, but you want it printed as well, and to have a photo printed it has to be of better quality than you can put on the net. Hope nobody else has taken offence.

Dint realise we had a new "Photography" section on NESA. As codseeker says, any photo is better than no photo at all.
These ungrateful journalists. Feed them mackeral all year and this is the thanks you get from them. Nothing but complaints about your photos.

nobody is complaining just giving a few words of advice to make your photos better. Most that are on the board are fine, but some I have sent are not very good, it is a pity that these anglers will not see their photo in print. Looks as if I will have to go back underground and give advice direct to those who ask, rather that put it up on the board.

Alan, with the amount of mackerel you eat, your brain must be well and truely puddled by now.

just get a brian transplant every year, not quite sure where they come from or if they are even human, wondering with all the mackerel I eat if they come from a crab.
