When you buy lug wrapped in newspaper from a tackle shop, how do you's keep it while actually fishing? Do you leave it in the newspaper and just take it out as you need it, or do you keep them in sea water? or different ways!

    Cheers

yeah i've noticed they shrink, think i'll try keeping them in a bit sea water. if i've any left over from a session, do i put them in some fresh sea water to use the next day? i know its best to change the water each day, but if i'm unable to get fresh sea water, how long they likely to last?

      Cheers

As long as you keep an eye on them and keep changing the little bit of water you keep them in they can last a few days. They tend to wash out a little but are still ok. Make sure that when you change the water it is at the same temperature as what they have been in so keep your water in the fridge too.

i know its not as good as fresh but could you not just keep a spare bucket full of sea water and just change the water with that for a few days?

I've kept them for about a week on water that I have brought home Shaun as I live in Consett and couldn't get down for fresh. As long as you don't put too much in, keep an eye out for any that are dying and keep the water at the same temperature they should be ok.
