  • C.a.a.g. Meeting

Tuesday 19th January at 7.30 p.m. there is a meeting of the Community Action Angling Group at Concordia, Cramlington. A number of these groups are being formed throughout the country to help and encourage angling. This meeting is to form the Northumbrian Group and six people will be appointed to act as the Committee. The Groups will have access to money to help clubs etc. At the last meeting, of the 24 people there, only 2 (myself and a representative from Get Hooked on Fishing) were the ONLY SEA ANGLERS present - the rest all represented Game rods, tackle manufacturers and the retail tackle trade.
I believe nominations have been made for the 6 people to act as Committee Members and judging from the attendance at the last meeting, it is quite possible that the Committee will be all game anglers - meaning that sea and coarse anglers will have no representation.

The Northumbrian area covers all clubs - both freshwater and sea angling - in the Northumberland area.
I believe there is to be a Tyne & Wear Group, which I am told will include Durham. I am still awaiting confirmation on dates and venue for this meeting. As soon as I find out, I'll post it here.
