am lookin t catch some dabs from the shore anywhere between the tyne n blyth as dont have transport any help with marks,tides,bait be much apreseated

hi steppey, we as young guns used to take lots of dabs from a very long lower tyne north side stone jetty! at all times of the year in all weathers, however i dont think ive seen a one caught as far up as the fish quay in all my 38yr fishing extravaganza, i hope you connect soon korky.

dabs like good claen sandy bottoms, best two venues you will find round here is Blyth pier and Rocky Island, you might also get a handful off one of the open beaches. Clubs that fish Tynemouth pier also get quite a few. Small hooks are needed and bait with worm or fish strip at times mussel is a good bait. Calmish conditions I have found the best, but have also caught when a little chop on the water with quite abit of colour in it, that is when mussel comes into it's own.Alan
