  • hard going on s,shields pier.

fished the pier just up from the 1st gate yesterday with geordie g and the boyos, still loads of freshwater in the harbour putting the curse on fishing, however we managed to winkle a few good flatties, whiting, coaly small tommys and "yes" a rockling lol. all falling to lug, rag baits.called it a day upon nightfall which made a change for me,im now back home trying to start a collection for gareth to help him sort out his harbour parking ticketlol cheers folks korky.

aye it wernt the best of days, but we did better than most on the pier!

biggest out of our crew of 6 being the 39cm flattie in the pic below, and the decent whiting i got early on. 2 of our lads blanked .

a few pics below of the day, but seriously, nowt to brag about lol. Highlight of the day for me was using my new Zippy HSM in anger for the first time.. superb bit of kit if any of you are after a clean beach/match.estury rod.. never known a floppy glass tipped rod be have such a quick recoverly and casting power, but so sensitive to bites.. another Terry Carroll winner.

and any more gyp abotu my parking ticket, you`ll be walking home next time!

Was that gate open because it looks like a difficult barrier to get past?

it gets shut at 4pm, the friendly port of tyne bloke gives you the choice of staying on, or going off and climbing around it when done, its quite easy to pass on the sea side.
