Heard something on the radio when i was driving back from work about some baby seals found on whitley beach with their heads cut off and the police were investigating!
anybody heard anything else about this?
Happens alot, seen a large male seal about 5 miles off shore with a gun shot to the head in September last year. Also in 2007 a young seal was on the steps of Shields pier alive and well but had a great hole in the side of its lower jaw from what was a gun shot.
It happens every year but still dont make it right, yes seals eat alot of fish and sometimes spoil our fishing marks but lie and let live i say.
That is a lot different Richy, I believe (whether we agree with it or not) that it is legal to shoot a seal if it is taking fish from a net. Catching a seal and cutting it's head off is not legal as they are protected. I really hope they catch the person or persons responsible.
Let's have no accusations of who did it either people, as we don't know, it could be one of a few different groups of people.
Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.
its shocking, 1 could have been a washed up accident, a few is a deliberite act of evil.
i hope the person or people responsible for this is /are caught.
this would suggest to me that they have been wandering around with a knife on them, with intent on using it, on a beach, where we spend most of our time.
this is disgrcful why on earth would someone want to do this they have just as much right to eat as we do the person/people who did this should recive the same treatment these animals recived themselves
this makes me feel sick why cut there heads off ? you hear about the ones in canada, alaska where they use a club to kill them. I dont agree with this either they are only trying to survive .
