forgot to put this in here
1st time out this year so went down the river at the marina thinking a couple of hours at the 2 cranes, no chance 3 inches of ice still on the road wasnt gona take a chance getting stuck on the slopes so went to the bottom end.just before i got there the police marine unit turned up.they were getting there gear out and when asked how long they were gona be i was informed not long so started to put me rods together.fitted me reels and me phone rang HELLO BRIAN ITS CHRIS ,ask if i fancyed the walkway ,arrive 1/2 hour later puffing n panting.
just about set up chris puls in a cod at size
not that long after pulls in a tommy cod, back he went JUST ,next up was a flounder/plaice.
unsure which it was ,rough back all the way but with red/orange spots on it. .
next for me was a w/ing
bout 1.5/6,chris got a flounder/plaice same stamp as mine (could have been brothers)
bit of a dry spell then had another w/ing.
followed by its sister on the last of me bait, both about the same size as the first one ,
weather was a bit miserable but spirits were high due to the number of bites we had .water was a bit coloured with a fair chop on at the piers,river traffic was the busyest id seen for a while with a massive car transporter going into the river with the help of 3 tugs, just before i headed home .
planed to make sweet n sour chicken for tea but as soon as our lass got in the car she asked if it was fish for tea ,tipical,
no chance chris got my fish for his freezer.
i was using big rag n maccy for bait ,chris had allsorts in his bucket
