Well decided to go fishing after initially not going. Got down te quay old lifeboat station & it was way too windy so walked along towards the good old haven. Went down on the rocks at the bottom of the path before the corner where the haven is (not exactly the haven but around the corner), thought i would give it a try for a change as i was sheltered from the wind a little.

First cast was iin around 5 mins, very windy, rod bouncing a bit but not enough to disguise the knock i got. Struck, got it, then snagged. I let a bit line out & the fish took it from the snag & in i brought it. A nice 3.6lb cod with a couple small snag wounds. I thought, oh yes i am in for a good 1, which i would have been but lost the next 2 due to snags then the tide forced me onto the prom above. Fished there an hour or so & it was no longer fun with the river crashing waves over the top of the full length of the prom. Very rough & time to call it a night

So 1 fish not bad at all & glad i chose to go.

Bait used scraps of leftover rag

Never mind Gazz, at least you got one mate. How many times does that happen though, a fish on the first cast to give you false hope and then no more lol.
