James, some marks fish better at high water, some at low water and if your lucky you can find some marks that will fish at both.

When I first started fishing Blyth beach by the pipe at the north end, I soon found out that I was wasting my time at high water. The south end I have found you can fish both high and low water. Over the years the north end has changed quite a bit and I have caught quite a few fish over high water by the pipe.

I am looking forward to seeing what is said about Blyth pier as that thing can fish at any time of the tide and sometimes not at all lol.

Obviously, some marks will only fish at high water because the sea goes back too far to fish the mark at low water

As stevieblue says it really depends where you are mate.

      Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

it's all down to experience, and it really does take years to know when, where, and what state of the tide, and which way the wind is blowing ,what time of year it is, do i fish it during a big blow or after, what is the best type of bait for that time of year, what type of rig would be the best etc etc and I'm only scraping the surface here, sea fishing is not just chucking a bait into the sea and hoping for the best

its just depends on when and where you are fishing mate.
dont forget the size of the tide is a factor as well.
Some marks fish different depending on if its day and night lol

name a few marks and see who replys to them ;D

the last 2 decent fish i got, where from a low water rock mark during the day (mid day) in about 4-5ft of water.

most of my fishing is done over rocks and from rock edges. I have managed over the years to learn marks that fish during most conditions. Some of them fish on the ebb then go quiet, some of them fish on the flood for a short period of time then go quiet and there are a select few marks that fish the ebb and the flood, but not when its going full chat.

I go by a general rule of around 3 hours before and an hour after high tide, but as Jim says it all depends on where you are fishing from as some places fish well at different times to others. Also depending on where you fish from might restrict you as of tide times.
