There were 3 K**BHEADS digging directly below the boats on Saturday night. Talking to an old guy who goes walking down there regularly and he said it\'s the same 3 digging there all the time. Apparently some of the fishermen have had words with them but got a load of abuse. Mackems apparently. If they aren\'t gonna listen to the Boulmer lads then maybe old plod and an appearance in court might make them think twice before doing it again.
Maybe they\'re illiterate and can\'t read the sign posts thaqt are stationed around the harbour?"And I looked, and behold'a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with hi, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with hunger, and with the beasts of the earth"

more than likely they are commercial diggers and dont give a tooss as long as they are getting loads of worm to sell to the shops.the worst thing about it is people like us that dont dig where we are not allowed leave more for the tossers who dont care.

firstly there is no such thing as \"out of bounds\" at boulmer, the bylaw cannot be enforced if you are collecting bait for your own use
secondly i agree anyone digging where the lads take their tractors down or pull the boats up is an inconsiderate idiot and deserves to have a trench dug around their car with a jcb just to see how they feel about life being made difficult
thirdly the problem definately originates from south of the tyne, i know the persons involved and have explained to them that the fishermen [who i know personallyl] don\'t give a $h1t where they dig as long as they leave the very small strip of beach they use alone. obviously they have took on board what i have said.
fourthly blaming commercial diggers is always the easy option but how many can say they have never bought bait from a shop or taken more worms than they need forcing the commercial diggers out of bounds so they can fill their orders.
the easy solution to all the problems at boulmer would be for alnwick council to drop a load of hardcore in the area the fishermen use, this would sink into the sand within a few tides and make digging impossible in that area.

sorry Loneranger, you are wrong about their being no out of bounds area at Boulmer and the bye law can be enforced. Baitdigging can not be stopped by a bye law but it can be restricted. It was going to be stopped the last time until a few of us managed to get the concession that is in place now. When next Alnwick District council say they are going to stop it. I for one will not be arguing the toss. It is idiots who dig out side of agreed areas that got Budle Bay stopped and thses are the first ones on the phone asking what the federations are going to do abpout it.Alan
