They will be waiting for some settled weather before starting any work.
With all these onshore winds and the pier being awash all the time,i don,t think they will be in any hurry to start....

True mate. Hopefully it'll calm down for a couple of days with a few westerly winds blowing in and they can make a start on it

cant believe people are still moaning about it being closed they have closed it for a reason {because it is 2 dangerous to fish} just let them fix it properly so we have a safe place to fish and avoid any injuries or fatalities there is plenty of other marks available we should be praising them for making it safer not telling them to hurry up and get a move on

Nobody's really moaning mate. They just miss fishing off the pier that's all. But like you say, the place has to be made safe again before the gates are opened

                          hi phil

i was talking to the guys who are repairing the pier and the damage is worse then they thought

44 foot railing have been repaired but another 51 still to do plus all the concrete

not much chance of this pier opening this winter, this information came fron the company who are doing the fabrication ( metal work )

Thanks for that Danny. I didn't realise the pier was damaged that bad! It has took a hammering over the last month aswell so that won't of helped. Cheers for the info.
