  • Blyth Pier last night 04 01 10

got down to Blyth Pier at about 5pm and fished through till 10pm.
Night started off great, biting straight away, caught a few small flatties,
About 6pm tap tap tap into a small codling, just on a 1lb but returned to live another day,
few casts later landed a nice flat fish just on 2lb which was
put into the bag for my tea.
Things got worse though as the night went on, lost a couple sets of
tackle, nested one of my reels quite bad and then got the butt of my rod stuck between the planks of the pier, pulled it the wrong way,
split the end and cracked the butt a foot up so I was not very happy.

So i am currently looking for the butt section for a greys apollo mk1 14ft if anyone can help me please get in touch with
myself or G-Force (Gary) if I am not about.

Yeah, will have to get out later this week - I came back from the Amble open with about twice as much bait as I went out with & it needs using up!! Hopefully we'll get some better seas later on if the forecast's right.

Will be keeping an eye out for a spare butt-section for you mate, got to be people out there who've bust a tip in the past & still got a butt in the garage.

      Cheers, Gary

It's a MK1 and they don't make the rod now so i will
have to keep looking in the classifieds for a butt section.

                  butt section

                  hi mate
might be worth phoning greys and see if they can make you a butt section as they could use the spigot. So the only worry should be the diameter of the butt section. I have just got a spigot made for a 20 year old conoflex and it only cost me a tenner.Give it a go you never know

Greys have a lifetime warranty, so should make no difference if the rod is discontinued.
If they have a lifetime warranty, surely they have to honour it, nomatter how long it may be.

bad luck about your but, a few years back a snapped the the tip section of my mk1 apollo and phoned greys up and they had a a spare tip in, an it cost me £30, you never know your luck they might still have one lying about hope that helps mate,
also ano its not the same, the but section off a 13' apollo should fit, ano cos ahad both and mine did and wsa a canny fit again hope this helps aswell
