  • Doom & gloom end of cod season!

Everyone is selling all there gear as the season has "supposedly" come to an end!
Cod have all gone & they've blanked the last 6 times!!!!!!
I'm more gutted to plan how I can squeeze beach & rock fishing into the boat season,
I personally can't wait summer sees return of smoothhound, conger, Rays, skate, pollock, etc etc, & the chance to stock up on big launce & mackerel & peeler crab.
There's over 11,000 miles of UK coastline in the UK so I'm fairly sure there'll be the odd fish lurking around including cod!

i think if all your interested in is cod then it is a quiet time but even the summer has good cod if your prepared to travel.

i just like fishing, regardless of species so will fish right through the year, just adapt to different species on different venues.

Plenty cod fishing to be still done locally. Need to change some venues to target them and there aren't as many but where's the fun in all the cod just chuckin themselves at ya?!? Lol.

I'm not that fussed about cod to be honest. I never keep them unless the hook is far down or I think they won't survive
I'd much rather give them another chance after all I'm only doing it for the sport all my food comes from supermarkets,
I think there's more fun to be had catching on lighter gear & targeting different species which quite often throws up a surprise
& as an added bonus most of the summer fishing I do has nicer scenery to look at

My shore fishing is almost all about Cod to be honest, I do fish for other stuff but it's cod that gets me going.
There's still plenty of good sport to be had in the summer months.....there's nothing like chucking big crab baits into the weed.

I'm so used to catching nowt that I don't even care anymore! I just love being by the sea with a rod, (pity I live 65 miles from the sea)
Can't do coarse fishing, that would be just wrong.

A bad days fishing is still miles better than a good day at work.

I've been getting ready for the summer cos this winter has been ****e to me.

I'm looking forward to some big wrasse and pollack with the lures and float. I'm going to try my best to get some bass on the plugs as well.
                      All the gear, no idea.
