  • tyne marks next to south shields ferry

    could anyone suggest any good marks next to south shields ferry to fish the high tide in the afternoon. ive heard about mill dam but not sure were it is. aswell do marks next to the ferry require distance casts or will short chucks work any help would be much appreciated. also is thre ground tackle hungry like the ice house

    mill dam is right next to the ferry its where the old ferry landing once was and in front of the customs house cinema and the ground is not snaggy

        ADAM, Get off ferry, turn right and walk about 300yrds where you come to the customs house. You can fish straight off the front right side or the left along the railings. It is fairly clear ground but may get snagged on a big tide if fishing mid flow.
        A bad days fishing is better than a good day at work.

            Aye, that's the site of the old 'Brighams' shipyard. There's three or four comfortable jetties along that stretch.
