525 mag extra i need help lol

hi ive just got a 525 mag extra for xmas,im wondering it come with a pair of magnets and an upgrade kit ie bearings,are these spares? or do i need to fit them,ive never had a reel like this when you add things ,anyone know what to do??

Hi mate, the reel will be fine out of the box - the extra bearings are just a little higher spec (ABEC 5's - which are fitted to the Supermag extra as standard), the reel has ABEC 3's fitted as standard. The two extra magnets can be fitted to the back of the existing ones in their holder (held on by their magnetism) if required.

My advice would be to try it as it came, start with the mags on full and don't overfill the spool with line - have a few mm between the lip of the spool and your line level. If you're having problems then think about popping in the extra mags. Once you've gotten the hang of it you might want to fit the upgraded bearings (or you could put these in straight away - I must admit I did!).

i have also been giffted with a new slidey, i was thinking the same with the mags and bearings. thank you very much for clearing things up fo rme and other who have read your reply.

just been down river tyne filled my reel with 30lb line its a great reel,i was chucking 4,5,6oz weights no problem,im not gonna bother with shockleaders now like,cos il be going to rocky marks alot,cheers lads
