I've got a mk3 apollo which is all i use all the time now. I've had a couple of RT's and they were great rods for the ruff stuff and also the beach but they are very stiff. The apollo is a nice slim rod and quite light (not as light as the SK4 tho) but has loads of power for the rocks and kelp but is still soft enough for the beach. It has great bite detection aswell.

Everyone i know who has the apollo mk3 loves it but it is the most expensive of the three. I know a few lads who usethe Sk4 and they can't fault them!!!
If it was me i'd get both lol.

the only 2 rods i have.... are a dam adrenaline (same as rt axe ) and a sonik sk4
both in my opinion cover all my fishing needs.. i use the sk4 for nearly all my fishing now from clean beaches to on the rocks.. and it handles them both very adequately ....it is a very easy rod to handle and casts both off the ground and pendulem very good..( with a abu6500 ) i have found that a slower cast gets the most out of the rod for me but that could me just down to my style...but it is still capable of sending a big bait very far with the usual overhead thump ( with a slosh 30 ) ... bite detection is brilliant and over all quality of the rod matches its bite detection...

the other rod which used to be my main rod is the dam adrenaline. i now use it for cliff fishing or as a second rod ... it itself is an awsome rod but just lacks that bit of bite detection for smaller fish like flatties but then its not a scratching rod.. its well capable of winching cod up cliffs when paired with a decent reel and its done plenty of that from flamborough to the smaller cliffs around marsdon . this rod has withstood loads of abuse on the rocks and for less than £100 its been the dogs danglys...

in my opinion if you want a more all round rod ( after a variety of fish) go for a sk4 but if you are mainly going for the rocks and cliffs..... ie the main quarry is cod then go for a RT axe or a Dam Adrenaline
      hope this helps
      cheers

I use the Sonik SK3 14ft 5-7 oz and the Greys Apollo mk2, but i would say 90% of the time i stick to the Sonik, great over rough ground, good bite detection and cast distance, for £110 you cant go wrong.

Well i have tried a mk2 apollo and with an otg cast using my pen mag 525 i enptied the spool (maybe i have a better technique than i thought, well if it had gone straight anyway ha ha). seriously though i think mi will be ok with any of the mentioned rods but i want a mk3 or a sonik sk4 it's now down to price and the soup dragons permission ha ha.
