  • Century Rods

I was going to buy a Daiwa Supercast rod but I been given a payrise & I\'m considering buying a Century rod.
Any suggestions on which one is best suited to mixed ground fishing?? What\'s the difference between a Kompressor & a Tip Tornado?
    Thanks..Mark

the kompressor is a stiffer rod more dedicated to rough ground work great if your a big lad. The tip tornado has a few models i use the sport and i find this to be a fantasic all rounder with excellent compression for casting and also very little bounce in rough weather. personally i would go for the tornado. tried a few of the other models match etc, and found them to be a little tippy.

overall you cant go wrong with a century

frasers at gateshead usually have a good stock in

I\'ve played around with an awful lot of rods in the past few years. Century are the best by far. I would personally buy a Longbeach of terry @ reelsport. At 13\' 6\'\' you get a bit more length to lock it vs the stock TT sport @ 13\'

There is a rod for everyone in the Century range, heres a rough guide , Kompressors come in grand prix- rough ground, Sport- mixed to rough ground, nice all round rod and easy to cast, match although I think they call them Lights now. not stiff at all a nice through action very easy to cast.
The tip tornado is very popular and nice rod, the sport is the best out of the range, it is a true all rounder, good bite detection capable of casting a very long way and will cope with anything you can chuck at it, a friend of mine uses his for whitty bashing on roker pier and fishing the cliff tops at whitburn.
Many a true word is said in jest!
