It is looking like the 26th November as the other dates are going to be a bit short notice by the time everyone decides whether to fish.
If anyone wants to bring someone with them I don\"t have a problem with that (more money for the RNLI). Will just be keeping it the same as Tony\"s comp last year.
I think the best place to meet would be the car park by the Rendezvous cafe on Whitley bay prom. It is a good central spot and about equal to Tynemouth and Blyth beach. If anyone has any ideas or thoughts on this please don\"t be afraid to put them forward as this is the first time I have arranged anything like this.
I would be greatful if anyone has any scales they could bring for the weigh in (hopefully we should get some decent fish lol).

      Thanks Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Couple of thoughts for the comp.

Date and meeting location are fine .....as you say Jim it\'s a good central location.

How a bout register from 7:00 to 7:30

Fishing, lines in from 8:00 to 11:00

Weigh in 11:30 to 11.45 or longer depending the amount of fish.

Entry fee £10 with 50% going to RNLI and the rest split between the top three places, say 30%, 15% then 5% of takings.

All, please feel free to slag this off, but at least it\'s a stariting point.
As my dad used to say....Man who go to bed with itchy bum......wake up with stinky finger!!!

I would prefer a sharper start but its no problem,I don\'t work on Fridays so its easy for me,suppose others will have work and family commitments if it was any earlier.
Jim is it possibe to get this \"Topped\",might be a problem with Tony being AWOL.
It might drift away down the list of posts if it does\'nt get a post for a day or two
              Cheers Alan...

Should be fine and may be able to drag out a few others. Will know nearer the time. I can sort out the scales from our club. Should be able to get them there one way or another even if I can\'t fish.

i think as the posts up and running with more taking an interest it should stay up top, them figures look fine to me ian ,i was gonna ask about heaviest fish (mine of course) but ill go with the flow id prefer a bit sharper start with 3 hours fishing but then again it depends who im coming with ,might have 1 or 2 in tow ill know after this weekend, still gotta butter the missus up yet
                  cheers Bri

I\'m in whatever, but if given a choice and earlier start/finish

                    2 reasons,

                    1. might get a beer afterwards
                    2. the bairns might want to come along again
                    3. its a lang drive home!

ok its 3, and the last one a bit wet, but the bairn enjoyed herself last year and has mentioned it again this year!

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

Just looked in (can\'t keep away....lol)......suffering from work overload - needed a break.

As Alan\'s suggested, I\'ve moved this topic to the top.

There\'s no reason why the shore comp shouldn\'t include a lovely prize table donated by local dealers, business owners and individuals (Richie?) Clare could you sort this out for us please ...Cheers thanks.

Them times I posted where just for starters to get some discussion going, which it has

I\'d be able to make it from about 6:00 onwards at the soonest, slightly earlier if I didn\'t go home from work first.

Ell, if you want prizes from the local supppliers, you know who they and all it takes for you to sort it is to ask them, so get your self in there

i suppose the venue might have a bearing on start times as well.

getting through the tunnel for those that need to etc etc.

it might be nice if, as heather mentioned, we all end up on the pier. names to faces and a good bit crack etc.

if it was a fixed location like a pier, meet and weigh in etc would be easy to organise.

last year, peeps turned up at th erattler and then shot off to their chosen marks then returned breifly for the weigh in and shot off again.

plus if it was a fixed location, that might give us a bit more lee-way on start times, so what a bout a pier only (blyth/shields??) comp, could we get permission to do it on tynemouth pier as a one off, its for a good cause etc, or maybe just 1 beach?? ie south beach blyth, meet at the melton constable etc

just ideas so feel free to shoot me down!

Unless its between Blyth and Seaton Sluice that way theres less travelling between registering and fishing and packing up and weigh in if you know what i mean
