  • samalite hl00f 6v 12ah headlamp help

3rd time i have used my brand new samalite headlamp, had it on charge today, the charger lights normally start on red until charged, then goes green.

but for some reason today, the lights were flashing red to green every few seconds and the lamp didnt charge

    any ideas?
it has not been damp or dropped, gutted as its brand new.
going to call samalite, just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas?
    cheers
    boz

    Get a Tiga mate

Seriously though, I've heard a fair few cases of this happening; sure there's a simple answer! I'll ask around & get back to you.

Assuming there's not a blown fuse, then it sounds like the battery has drained to the point it's not accepting a charge now from the tricke charger. If you know someone with the same lamp then borrow their (fully charged) battery and basically jump-start your battery off it just as you would to jump start a car by connecting the two together.

cheers for the info lads ;D

i think it is sorted, its charging with the red light on there now, i stripped it all down, found that the live wire from the battery to the fuse holder had a dry joint, so my mate solderd it together.
i think it was a dead flat battery as well, the guy from samalite said that it needs to be on charge all the time when not in use. basically said the lead acid batteries are ****e lol

so from now on, its going to be on constant charger on the trickle unless its being used.

fingers crossed that it fixed ;D

had a awful feeling it was fooked after being used on its 3rd outing!

had to use the trust speelio fx3 last night lol
