Hi Andy,
Basicaly there are two beaches at Lynemouth. One to the N of the power station and one to the S. Both fish best on a dying sea, and during darkness. Having said that codling and the odd bass can show up during the day. Both beaches are reasonabaly snag free, but the beach to the N can get snaggy the further N you go.If you want to fish the S beach, then turn into the power station entrance and turn left before you come to the gate house. There is a large car park on your left and you can park your car in safety here. There is a large building ( seabait) to your right. and if you go towards the gate, you can walk round the gap between a large concrete cube and the fence. Follow the path, then turn left so that the Seabait building is on your left. Keep walking in this direction (East) untill you come to the beach. After that it in 'pot luck' where you fish.
If you fish the N beach, it is not as far to walk. You can park your car just off the road as you drive over the small bridge. However I have heard tales of cars being vandalised, although I have to stress I have parked mine here many times without incident. Walk over the dunes (East) and the beach is about a five minute walk just.
Good luck.
One thing about Lynemouth is there is plenty of room for everyone.
