Right guys i am just getting myself some new shore gear after i sold it all. What is a good headlight these days. I want a fully rechargeable one and it must be able to withstand heavy work etc.
300 lumens max & adjustable up to that output. Rechargeable via mains or USB & will also take AAA batteries, charging gear comes with it. Variable focus & a very tiltable head. Haven't used it fishing yet but It's zillion times brighter than my Petzl Tikka.
The Cree stuffs good value I must admit, but a couple of mates have had similar gear (Chinese I think?) but the batteries don't last that long (as in 'they won't charge anymore') LED Lenser still use Cree LED's but the batteries & build quality is better.
You gets what you pays for & I always remember what an engineer mate of mine says, 'buy cheap, buy twice'

*sometimes this is not the case*
It's apparently NOT the battery's. it's the charging circuit in the headlights. Buy an independent charger for the battery's and they work fine.... I've had a cree headlight which cost £15 and so far its lasted 2yrs and still going strong.
