i am assuming they were waiting for start of comp i just drove to small car park and a few were getting there gear out plus another car was there. i would be bored stiff waiting for 4hrs for start of comp ,i just went down for a bit pleasure fishing.did you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?Comment

There were people actually camping out for that mark last year

I must admit i was there for 7 to get my spot which i just managed. And to be honest if you take your fishing the open serious and fish the area at least once a week you Know that the HQ was a good shot this year, i find it rude turning up for a comp at the last minute and expect because i am known to other anglers that i can just squeeze in amongst them( i'm telling you this because it happend to me in the open and he is a well known angler and was on the prize board) because of this intrusion and his bizzare idea that fishing up river as it flooded resulted in about 5 tangles of our lines so to combat this i had to cast the same direction to the anger of other anglers who had themselves been on there marks earlier than me, some even over night.
Im not pointing the finger overall i had a great day out and had 27 fish all under weight but thats the joy of fishing to me but all i ask is that its not to much trouble getting out of bed a bit earlier making a little extra effort it may pay off in the end.Comment

The same thing happened at the post on the pier. this guy was casting a lot further than the rest, and when he reeled his fish in, (sometimes double shots) he was dragging two or three lines in. In fact the lad right next to him got so p33d of he went to marsden for the last hour and got the heavies fish. Nice one.. The other guy was well into the prizes, but that's competition fishing. it's not for everyone
