I think I know what rig you mean, the one where the snood drops down the main line.

Well it can be any size really - snood length is usually linked to conditions - rough = short, slight = longer.

Although some swear by it, never had anything on one.....

If a fish is on the end, the lead stays above the hook, so it sort of is m8..in a non-traditional sort of way. I think that's what he is getting at.

i use pulleys all the time and i seen a bit in sea angler saying it was a good rig so i tried to find info on it and got this http://www.sea-angling-ireland.org/D...%20%281%29.jpg It has no info on it like length... so its unknown to a novice like me the scale, its called a dropper or short pulley rig but i have no idea how short lol

Snaggy, the pully rig in the link is ok , just do away with the crimps, they will only weaken the line, and the beads wont damage the knots

instead of a free running pulley i think its limited to a lesser half of the main body rig so the hook is grounded.. is this right? if so then i need to stop it half way up the link with stopknots instead???

Can't get my head round the purpose of the crimps? Not needed in my opinion.....then its a normal pulley innit?
