most clubs have a list of suspect cheats, and if you said joe bloggs (sorry if your name is joe bloggs ) was out fishing last night caught so and so fish and may cheat or try to cheat , you can almost certainly say that the club will know who you mean and it would be no use them saying i am harry dogsbody . all i can say is if there is anyone out there that does cheat i hope you get caught and banned from every comp in the world and you will have no one to blame.

I agree wholeheartedly BUT, don't forget that they will have at least a couple of witnesses to verify their claim AND if you accuse them in public they can 'nail' you for defamation of character/slander.

You have to catch them in the act OR obtain a confession from them OR have witnesses to say they saw them cheating.

In the absence of any of these three conditions we, the honest anglers, don't have a leg to stand on.

The toe-rags are in a win-win situation.

if you say that you know 100% then why not send there details on to the organisers,they can then put things in progress.and to put this bluntly why have the moderators not sent the details of drof to the organisers as to watch his mates as he states he knows them well.is this common practise to let someone on a forum post replys and state they are actually real.maybe the mods dont have a name but the area and an ip address would go a long way.as for the remarks drof you are in my eyes as bad as those who you say are cheating and should be banned from this site as you will not even pass the info on to the moderators,maybe someone should send this thread to elton and let him decide weather this should be allowed on here.like i say if you know the names like you say then pass them on otherwise you are involved as bad as those you say are actually doing this sort of thing.

IF YOUR so sure cheating is going on dont sit there get up and do some thing about it, am sure you would swamped with offers to nab these alledged cheaters that you and only you keep going on about , most of us are quite willing to believe who catches what cos we have faith in our fellow anglers

in my expeirence of opens the winners are nearly always seen catching their fish because they fish reconised shots and there are always others anglers fishing there. and would say most opens are won by rconised anglers who are known by most of the angling fraternity so until you can get proof PUT UP OR SHUT UP WE we can do without the likes of you

Just Listen for once and try to digest what has been said to date, Slow Lad.

There is no doubt that these organised cheats DO exist. I know some of them personally.

I've also acknowledged that the majority of competition anglers are 100% straight, in fact, at one point I never missed a comp - both around here and North of the border ( with quite a bit of success I might add)

As far as 'getting proof', you need to:

a) Catch them in the act.
b) Obtain an admission from them in front of a third party.
c) Have witnesses to state that they saw them commit the offence.

If you don't have at least one of these conditions in place and you accuse them in public, they'll hang you out to dry for defamation of character/slander. (Don't forget that they will have at least two 'indpendent' witnesses to support them)

I can understand why competitive anglers such as yourself don't want to accept that these cheating b.....ds exist. They are, in fact, mugging you off at every comp that they turn-up for.

So continue to bury your head in the sand and enjoy your comp, THEY certainly will, AND THEY don't even need to fish on the day if they don't want to (unless they want top-up their bag even more)

I presume that means you have just given me permission to pass all of your details to anyone that asks for them for whatever reason? You that complained about us using your real name on the site and asked us not to do it again.

Why have a go at the moderators? Try me instead, my shoulders are broad enough. Why do you need to mention Elton in this? do you think we will all jump to attention at the very sound of his name and do your bidding?

I had to read this twice before I went to bed. I couldn't believe it the first time. Maybe I should pass Drof46 details to the interweb police eh, they might be able to get him with such things as typing too slowly or pointing his fingers at the keyboard in a threatening manner.

Try thinking before you post in future and don't try threatening moderators or anyone else on here. I will pass the details on to Elton myself, I am sure you will be relieved that he will get to know all about our shortcomings

pass it to who??? the organisers of opens in the areas.why let the post continue with the sarky comments and information that his mates do it,he should of been stopped from replying to ant threads,as for me contacting you about using my real name this was for a post regarding anglers concerned a inshore netting boat was not supposed to be allowed to this,you are very quick to reply to posts i have made but very slow to stop the posts concerened in cheating anglers.are you one of his pals like? not that iam thinking you cheat but that you yourself may also know them.how as a moderator and a fellow angler can you let this sort of post continue without passing the info on to all the opens held around here?. or is it a case of well its just a post why bother it dont have anything to do with the site.if i said out about you does that mean i wont be barred from the site as i am talking about you and not the site.call yourself an angler i think not.

Now then, unless Droff46 has broken the law I would be prosecuted if I passed on information about him to people that run fishing competitions. That wouldn't matter to someone like you though would it, as long as you were not going to carry the can. That takes us back again to my first comments on this post. Maybe you should do a little research before you come here shouting your mouth off about something you either know nothing about or you are ignoring it.

I take it you have contacted Drof46 and asked to talk to him about this problem before posting on here???

Now then, about being "one of his pals like" No I am not one of his pals, and apart from him being on here I have never heard of him anywhere else. Very clever insinuation that though, as you know crap sticks and it sounds as though you are trying to get people to think he is a mate of mine and I cheat

Of course you would be barred you silly man. Where in one of Drof46 posts has he said something about any person???? If you noticed he was pulled up about some comments he made but that is not allowed on any site.

He has stated That he knows people that cheat in comps. If he can live with himself then so be it. He said he has reported peoples names but got nowhere, what more can he do???. It is a well talked about subject that people have been banned from fishing some opens because of cheating. As far as "Squads" roaming the boundaries I have never heard of and neither has anyone I know but I can't say he is just deliberately lying because I have not patrolled the boundaries to every comp.

So, if you would like to tell me where Drof46 has broken the law then I might have to help you. Until then this will have to just remain as a thread that you don't agree with and leave it at that.
