Thanks Sam for a fantastic show,I went today with my wife and daughter and we really enjoyed the show some fantastic demonstrations and great advice from traders there and fantastic advice from the RNLI. I signed up to join a fishing club and took out a subscription with a fishing magazine and bought some great things as well
thanks once again
Thanks guys ... you've got me blushing !!!
Without all of your support, the show wouldn't be worth putting on - and I very much appreciate it.
ALL of the exhibitors at this year's show have re-booked for next year - plus I have already had enquiries from other major tackle manufacturers wanting to come in. So hopefully next year is going to be bigger and better ... and I promise the entry price of £3 will never go up.
Very many thanks to my pals who helped me out - especially to Mike and Yvonne Haley - because without them and a couple more friends, I would have been struggling.
I am sorry that North East Tackle was not at the show, as had been arranged but Liam, the owner, rang me at 11.00 o'clock on Friday morning and said that he had a family problem and could not attend. For the next few minutes, I had cold sweats, fear, panic and just about any other emotion because this left quite a big empty gap. Fortunately Vic Young Motors came to my rescue and loaned me that beautiful motor which was in the corner. We just managed to get it through the doors and I am very grateful to Vic for helping me out with this.
My thanks also to Andy Rutherford at Sunderland, as 10 days ago Ian Woods Tackle from Morpeth cancelled due to staff problems, but Andy managed to get enough stock together to help me out.
My thanks also to Christine (my better half) who, without her I wouldn't have been able to run the show at all.
Last - but not least - thanks to all of you for all of your support.
Don't forget if any of you are in clubs and want publicity - or as an individual you catch a good fish - contact me with the details of any events, competitions, catches etc. and I'll put them in my column on Thursday night in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle and BBC Radio Newcastle's angling programme.
Thanks again lads.
Tight lines
Sam
today was my only day off to go and see the show and i was reallly looking forward to seeing some top casters show there stuff. unfortuneatley they where not on the itinery. however, the displays and general feel of the event where enthusiastic. I spent three hours there and dont know where it went. I particularly liked the stalls that had a kind of fishing jumble sale going on cos there was lots of bargains to pick up and stuff to look at you only ever see on the web and never realy get a chance to play with.
As a fledgeling event it was good to see the interest shown and i can see it going from strenght to strenght. thanks to the lads who put the work in to make it possible.
I really enjoyed the show aswell. I agree with pondlife, it was a good chance to see and play with things you would normally only see on the internet, and if you want buy them without the postage.
I got a 75 cm folding measure with my name engraved on it, a load of different Calcutta shads, some Ian Golds tackle, etc.
Also got to see the new Ian Golds Igloo shelter.
Cheers Sam,
Geoff
