gonna have another trip up to craster again tommorow night if nothing happening there i will be going to try cullernose point as ive not fished there before.....
will report back on here on saturday let u know how we got on!
cullernose point is the point about a mile south of craster village (dunstanburgh castle a mile to the north) not to put you off but ive fished cullernose many times and find it is a bit over rated (i could be wrong but its just what i think and have heard off many others) its a sandy bottom so you shouldnt loose too much gear but on the same token you may not get many fish! with the sea being east/south easterly be very varefull because the swells can rise very high very quickly up the rock. if you were thinking about cullernose area it may be worth your while to try the howick area (just south of cullernose) -there is an area known as the doctors house and can be fished high or low water and is renowned for some very big fish!! good luck
thanks ive never fished cullernose hope to just stay at craster to be honest........it seems to be my lucky spot...fished there loads and only blanked once and got a big cod last friday.....there is a map on my other post with a load of marks up and down the coast i will try and get it onto this post for you!
hi, did your fish last friday night come from casting over the back of the pier? what baits were you using as im thinking about heading up there myself tomorrow night. cheers
the cod i caught last week was from the front of the pier with the cover on it and just out to the right!it was almost in when i caught the fish prob 10-15 metres out!
myself my cousin steven and my mate dave went to craster yesturday got there about half 4 and stayed till around 0230 6 fish caught altogether 3 cod and 3 rockling....weather was good but lost loads of weights, rigs, and even half a rod!!! ha ha ha my cousin stevens rod snapped! but not a bad night apart from i never caught a thing!!!
Dave's cod was around 2-3lb and stevens around the 2lb and 1.5lb.
